Some weddings feel like you’ve been counting down to them right alongside the couple.

Livia and Vince’s wedding was one of those weddings.

I’ve known these two since January 2026, so by the time their Three Trees Chapel wedding day finally arrived, I felt like I had been on this journey with them every step of the way.

When their beautiful June wedding in Littleton, Colorado rolled around, I couldn’t wait to start documenting it.

I actually started a little earlier than planned so I could swing by Three Trees Chapel before guests arrived. If you’re searching for a Colorado wedding venue with foothill views and a cozy chapel feel, Three Trees Chapel is such a hidden gem. Nestled against the foothills, it’s one of the cutest little wedding venues in Colorado, and I wanted to capture it while everything was still quiet and untouched.

From there, I headed to the bride’s getting ready location in Ken Caryl Valley.

And if you’ve never been to Ken Caryl Valley before… holy WOW.

The homes tucked into the valley are absolutely stunning.

Livia and her bridesmaids were getting ready at a friend’s beautiful home, and it could not have been a more perfect backdrop for the morning. Between the gorgeous natural light, the girls getting their hair and makeup done, and Livia’s stunning wedding dress hanging nearby, there was no shortage of beautiful moments to photograph.

After spending a couple of hours with the ladies, it was time to head to the groom’s location.

Wedding days involve a surprising amount of driving sometimes.

Thankfully Vince and his groomsmen were only about ten minutes away.

The centerpiece of the room was a beautiful piano that practically begged to be included in photos. It ended up being the perfect spot for some classic groom portraits. Vince and his guys cleaned up pretty well, if I do say so myself.

Before long, I was back on the road heading to Three Trees Chapel to meet up with Livia before the wedding party arrived. Yes… there was a lot of driving that day, but

every mile was worth it.

Once she was tucked into her dress, I finally had a chance to photograph all the gorgeous details throughout the chapel and reception space. The sage green and dusty rose color palette was absolutely beautiful. Honestly, sage green has yet to disappoint me as a wedding color.

Livia and Vince chose to do a first look before the ceremony, and I am a huge fan of first looks.

Not only do they give couples a chance to have a private moment together before the whirlwind of the day begins, but they also allow us to knock out wedding party portraits and bride and groom portraits before the ceremony. That means less rushing later and more time actually enjoying the reception.

And Vince’s reaction when he saw Livia?

Absolutely priceless.

The ceremony itself was beautiful, traditional, and incredibly emotional. After spending months getting to know these two, hearing them exchange vows definitely got me a little misty-eyed behind the camera.

Occupational hazard, I guess.

After the ceremony, we moved right into family formals, and they went surprisingly fast.

The secret?

Livia came prepared.

She took the time to create a detailed family formal shot list before the wedding, which made everything run smoothly and efficiently. Future brides, take note!

Your photographer will love you forever.

Following family photos, the celebration officially kicked into gear with the grand entrance and first dance. The reception was filled with laughter, happy tears, heartfelt toasts, and one of the most unexpected wedding moments I’ve ever photographed.

An armadillo cake reenactment.

If you’ve seen Steel Magnolias, you already know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t, do yourself a favor and look it up.

It was fantastic.

The dance floor stayed packed all evening, thanks to a DJ who clearly understood the assignment. Every time I looked up, guests were dancing, laughing, or attempting dance moves they’ll probably deny ever happened.

One of the biggest highlights of the day was getting to work alongside the talented video team at Tommy With The Shot. From the ceremony through the end of our sunset portraits, we worked side by side to make sure every important moment was captured. A great photographer and videographer team can make such a difference on a wedding day, and these guys were an absolute blast to work with.

Just when I thought the night couldn’t get any more entertaining, guests started sneaking outside to decorate the getaway car.

By the end of the evening, it was covered in messages for the newlyweds.

Some sweet.

Some heartfelt.

Some… let’s just say those markers probably should’ve been supervised.

Needless to say, it got a pretty good laugh out of Livia and Vince.

As the night came to a close, they made their exit through a tunnel of glowing fairy light streamers before driving off into the night surrounded by cheers from family and friends.

Sounds like the perfect ending, right?

Not quite.

Because we weren’t done yet.

After the reception, we headed over to South Valley Park for sunset portraits, and I am so glad we did.

South Valley Park is one of my favorite places near Littleton for wedding portraits.

The red rock formations, the foothills, and that soft golden evening light made the perfect backdrop for a few quiet moments together after the excitement of the day.

One of my favorite tips for couples is to sneak away after the reception for sunset portraits if your timeline allows. By then, all the nerves are gone, you’ve had dinner, you’ve laughed with your guests, and you finally get a chance to slow down and soak in the fact that…

hey, you’re married!

Some of my favorite images from the entire wedding came from those last few minutes together as the sun disappeared behind the mountains.

It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable Colorado wedding day.

Livia and Vince, thank you for trusting me with one of the biggest days of your lives. It was such an honor getting to know you both over the past several months and watching everything come together. Your wedding was full of joy, laughter, happy tears, and just enough beautiful chaos to make it unforgettable.
