Nathan & Racheal’s Love Story


When people talk about elopements, this is the kind of magic they dream of.


Nathan and Racheal chose to celebrate their love in one of the most breathtaking locations Colorado has to offer—atop Mount Blue Sky, just past Idaho Springs. As a Colorado elopement photographer, I’ve seen a lot of beautiful backdrops, but nothing quite like this intimate cliffside spot with snow-capped mountain views and pine-covered valleys stretching for miles.


Their ceremony was the definition of intentional. Just the bride, the groom, Nathan’s cousin (who was also the officiant), myself, and my boyfriend assisting me behind the scenes. No crowd. No noise. Just love, nature, and a whole lot of meaning.


Nathan and Racheal share a deep bond that’s rooted not just in adventure but also in faith. One of their favorite traditions is riding motorcycles up into the mountains together. It was on one of these rides—during a cold winter hike to their special overlook—that Nathan proposed using his grandmother’s ring. The couple now wears matching wedding bands passed down from his grandparents, who were married for over 60 years. Each band is engraved with a cross—a symbol of a marriage grounded in God.


Their elopement was more than a ceremony—it was a spiritual and emotional experience. The wind danced around us on that cliff as vows were exchanged, and the mountains bore witness to a moment that felt entirely sacred.
